Matthew and Rodney selected two very classic New York sceneries to capture their engagement: Grand Central Station and the Long Island City waterfront with breathtaking views of the Manhattan skyline (plus a playful subway ride in between!).

Both Preet and Sharan had an instinctual reaction when they first met ... somehow they knew it was meant to be. After following the Punjabi tradition of setting a date for their engagement ceremony, also known as the Kurmai and Chunni ceremonies, Preet surprised Sharan with a modern day proposal during their engagement photo shoot.

It may be cold but Rob and Dana's snowy engagement session is sure to give you warm fuzzies. With hot cocoa mug save-the-dates, snowball fights and cuddles in a blanket, this sesh shot by Luna Blue Studio definitely shows how beautiful and insanely romantic the winter months can be.
Bright hues and even brighter smiles have us completely smitten over Lance and John's engagement session photographed by Shaw Photography Co. We love the variety of sites they chose in their home city of Buffalo, N.Y., from the bar where their eyes met at the jukebox to the steps of the Buffalo History Museum.
As a nod to their rustic winery wedding in May, Amy and Heather chose a barn property for their engagement shoot filled with farm equipment, hidden nooks and industrial backdrops that made for the perfect setting and resulted in gorgeous sun-kissed photos of their love.
This couple has mastered the art of accessorizing. Chris and Michelle had their love captured by Michelle Girard Photography around their home city of Boston looking stellar with complimentary outfits detailed right down to the hats and jewelry they wore (can you imagine how great they’re going to look for the big day?). A picnic, wisteria-covered trellis, over-sized moss “LOVE” signage and gelato also make an appearance for an engagement shoot that is chock full of personality.
Madisson and David sneaked in smooches in between rows of mums and lilies at a colorful greenhouse while Crystal of Willow Lane Photography beautifully captured their love.
With sweeping views of Lower Manhattan, old, charming houses and open green spaces, Governors Island, which is a former military base that opened as a public space in 2012, is an oasis from the hustle and bustle of New York City. "Not only is it a place that Jeremy and I enjoy visiting together, it’s also the place where I came out to my mother and got such a warm and loving reception when I did so," explains Jonathan of their engagement location choice. "When you add that special meaning of the place to the picturesque nature of the island itself, it was a ‘no-brainer’ to have our photo shoot there."
After a blissful seven-year romance, Steve was ready to take it to the next level and reached out to Facebook about coming to the San Francisco campus (under the guise of winning some sort of contest with a tour of the campus) and proposing to his girlfriend there.
Not only were Brittiny and Jason sharing laughter and love during their engagement session with one another, but they were also doing so with a soon-to-be third family member. They decided to capture both exciting pieces of news -- an engagement and pregnancy -- into one gorgeous photography session that perfectly reflects their adorable growing family.
Nate and Clare cuddled up in the romantic bay town of Lewes, Del., for their adorable engagement session. The couple chatted over coffee at the local roastery, swung in the trees and went for a stroll down the pier all the while holding each other close and sharing laughs as LuRey Photography snapped away.
I've worked in wedding media for almost four years now and have read (and written) my fair share of engagement stories. From flash mobs to family-featured engagements, secret getaways to proposals disguised as photo shoots, being inundated with all of these amazing stories makes it difficult to not envision my own engagement.
For Sarah and Patrick, the comfort of their surroundings and in each other allows their love to shine through and Kate Neal expertly captures that love with her lens. "We wanted to have photos that captured how we live in real life," says Sarah. "We both love spending weekend afternoons at home reading the paper, playing with our dogs and relaxing so our home was a natural fit for the photos."
The pups paired with stylized signs, a cute camping setup and a game of Scrabble led to one amazing backyard engagement shoot, perfectly captured by Heirloom Collective.
Lovebirds Kate and Sean revisited some of the places most meaningful in their relationship during their super sweet Virginia Beach engagement session, effortlessly captured by Hoot Media.
Sara and Melanie's engagement shoot is gorgeous at first glance, with a beachy vibe that normally wouldn't come to mind when you think of a Texas backdrop. However, Sara and Melanie are just that kind of couple: their story is full of unexpected twists, practical romanticism, and the ability to put a positive spin on anything. Once you hear their story, the pictures, beautifully taken by Melissa Claire Photography, become even more enchanting.
Under Yosemite's towering redwoods, Lauren and Corey's personalities and love positively glowed through Christina Karst's lens. Vintagey props that give nod to their rad style, such as old books, a banjo and a pipe, paired with Christina's unique angles make this a truly magical engagement session.
LA Exposures captured Win and Alpha's engagement session in the city where they shared all of their "firsts" -- San Francisco.
