The pencils are sharpened, the backpacks are stuffed … yep, it's back-to-school time!
Walking through those big doors can be scary (for both kids and parents alike!), but Krysta Reed‘s 5-year-old knew just how to handle it. “Currently my 5 year old is obsessed with Blue the Velociraptor from Jurassic World,” she says. “So when he asked to incorporate his favorite character into his shoot, I said, ‘HECK YES.' My son is on the spectrum and has a challenging time trying to focus or capture a real smile. When I told him that we could do a dino back-to-school session he squealed!”
Cruising up in a borrowed jeep, complete with Jurassic World logo, Dino Mom bid farewell to her little Velociraptor, Starbucks in hand (hey, even dinosaurs need their morning coffee!). With his backpack and lunchbox (poor Lamby appears to be lunch!), he sauntered off to school, where his teacher Mr. Rex was waiting.
This sesh just warms my heart so much, and proves that nurturing a child's imagination (and not being afraid to get a little silly!) can make such an impact. This little cutie can't stop smiling, and these precious captures will certainly be beloved for many, many years.
