Together for 14 years, married for three, Emily and Irene were ready for that next chapter: motherhood. “We have always wanted to be moms and with a lot of determination and a little help, we welcomed our sweet baby Mark into our lives three months ago,” says the new moms.
To document those early days, they welcomed photographer Naomi Cataldo of Urban Row Photography into their beautiful townhome to capture images of them with their son. Their light-filled townhome is full of neutral, calm tones and modern vintage decor. In contrast to their light and airy living room and bedroom, the nursery is inspired by Sesame Street and full of vibrant, bold golden yellow walls with an iridescent pendant. Pops of color in the hanging wall art, rug and adorable llama Kate gifted her nephew are grounded by the warm acacia wood mid-century West Elm crib.
“Mark is the sweetest little boy. He loves flashing his gummy smile at us and when we smile back he becomes bashful and buries his head in our shoulder. He loves his family and he loves to eat. Not sure which one he loves more!” exclaims Emily and Irene. “There is no such thing as down time any more! It’s hard to imagine just a year ago spending our summer poolside all day. Now it’s diapers, feeding, pumping, napping, and repeat. We’re the happiest we’ve ever been!”
