RachelAnne wanted to create a special album for her husband for their fourth wedding anniversary, and decided to enlist Genel Lynne Photography for an oh-so-sweet session on their daughter Harvest's first birthday.
Frolicking around a greenhouse filled with cats brought out Harvest's natural wonder. “Harvest loves cats and all things furry, and I thought she'd be in her natural element,” says RachelAnne. “She is an adventurous little girl growing up on a farm. We always tease that she really lives up to her name because she is always picking our vegetables and eating them right off the stalks. She's easy to please, and sensitive to others' feelings as well as her own. Full of whimsy and made of funny bones, one of her favorite things to do is romp around the farm with our wolfdog, Aurora. She flits around, babbling all sorts of toddler nonsense, trying to teach the dog to be nice to the sheep and to not eat butterflies.”
“After a heartbreaking miscarriage loss, we were really excited to find out I was pregnant in August 2014 with Harvest. She has brought so much joy after so much pain. Having children isn't always easy or convenient, but it is oh so rewarding,” says the new mother, who looked absolutely radiant in this session. “I look through totally different lenses every day. I mean, I'll never take showering alone for granted anymore. Before having kids, if somebody stuck their face in my face at five in the morning, I wouldn't have been a happy camper. But now … you know. Everything changes.”
