When an order came through for a customized bottle of Hidden Valley Ranch with the phrase “Will you marry me, Halie?” the condiment company knew they wanted to play a role in this special occasion. “The idea that our product could be that meaningful to someone that it would be used in a marriage proposal is such an incredible honor, and we knew we had the ability to make it even more memorable,” says Vicki Haber, Associate Director on Hidden Valley Ranch.
As for the lucky person it was for, Mack had met Halie seven years ago online and stayed connected through Snapchat. “We started to grow close, and somewhere in between all the little moments we shared, we fell in love with each other,” says Mack. “We knew we couldn’t just let what we had be a maybe because of bad timing, but I was shy so she ended up asking me to be her girlfriend and of course, I said yes! And six months later, she and our son Asher moved into my house here in Nebraska.”
“Over the course of all these years, the one thing I definitely picked up on was that she was the BIGGEST ranch addict I had ever met!” laughs Mack. “She would use ranch on absolutely everything. I heard about the personalized Hidden Valley Ranch bottles so I thought it would be the perfect way to ask her to marry me.”
After hearing that they create custom bottles, Mack went online and put in her request, but was shocked to receive an email from the brand saying they wanted to be a part of the proposal. “I was working two jobs to save up the money so I could plan something cute at our house. I was going to have candles and roses but then Hidden Valley Ranch made it into something so much more spectacular!”
Hidden Valley Ranch set up the proposal weekend of a lifetime. Working with Mack to plan the trip to her desire, they treated the couple to an all-inclusive weekend in Omaha. A car service picked them up and chauffeured them all weekend, they stayed two nights at the best hotel in town, all meals were provided, culminating in a top-of-the-line steakhouse meal where Mack popped the question. The day after the proposal, the brand arranged an engagement photoshoot.
“We’re so grateful that Mack and Halie allowed us to be a part of their special day,” says Haber.
