On a beautiful June day, Rachel and Talia tied the knot and officially became Mrs. and Mrs. Lau.
With hopes of having an elegantly rustic wedding,The Barn at Vertical Timbers proved to be the perfect setting. Each bride spent the morning getting ready with their parties before Talia slipped into a lace-adorned wedding dress and Rachel into navy blue suit pants, a vest, and personalized cufflinks gifted from Talia. They then united on the property grounds for a first look, posing with their wedding party afterwards.
Navy and maroon were the chosen colors of the day seen through the attire of their party members, DIY hand-dyed sola wood flowers, a large display of cupcakes, and personalized drinking cups that doubled as favors.
And while the tones, textures, and details were beautiful – it was the intentional, lovable moments that brought the most happiness.
“One of the most important things was to make it a very loving environment for everyone. It’s a wedding so love is present but we wanted everyone to feel how much love we feel for each other and the ceremony definitely did that,” shares Talia and Rachel.
An emotional procession, having their friend officiate the significant milestone, and shot off a shotski surely left a memorable mark in the hearts of guests. But there was another special surprise that not only had everyone in attendance in tears, but even went viral on social media.
“My father was not going to attend the wedding because he was hospitalized a week before the wedding,” mentions Talia. “But he ended up surprising me and walking me down the aisle. It was such a beautiful moment and it was posted on TikTok and it went viral and we got interviewed for it! Such a cool experience.”
Post-nuptials, the rest of the evening was spent celebrating. The brides, who met online, joined their loved ones for cocktail hour, enjoyed speeches from loved ones, danced together, and snapped some romantic portraits at sunset.
“All the stress is worth it. I promise. Also! Take some time to wander off and spend time with each other and take the day in. We sat under a tree and had a mini freak out moment and laughed and kissed and I love that we took that advice from our photographer,” exclaims the happy couple.
