When a couple's meet-cute is during a rap battle against each other, you know it's not going to be your average wedding. Sam and Kiss traveled from their home in the U.K. to say “I do” in an almost other-worldly setting, a dried-up lake bed in the middle of the Las Vegas desert.
“I had always wanted an elopement wedding and destination venue. Vegas was always the dream so we stuck to our guns and went for it even though it probably upset a few people, the point was this was about us. It was our day our way and I wasn't willing to compromise how I wanted to declare my love to Sam for others,” says Kiss.
“My goal was simply my motto for the wedding ‘Surrounded by Nothing Yet Having Everything.' Simple was the key.”
Simple yet chic. Sam looked dashing in a tuxedo — “Classic and sleek AF. Bring that James Bond-vibe, or as I like to call him my Hus-Bond!” and Kiss stunned in a white Enzoani gown. “For me i wanted a plain dress so sleek effortless and timeless, something that wouldn't date or change in fashion, a well-tailored dress or suit stands the test of time. I got my drama from my 15-foot drop veil. The wind caused havoc with it but totally worth it! My shoes were Badgley Mischka bringing the Vegas glitz.”
Around her bouquet, the bride carried a locket that held photographs of her dad and grandad, who have since passed. “It was my way of having them with me,” she says.
The couple exchanged handwritten vows and then celebrated with donuts and Champagne, “because, well, America and Vegas!” and later celebrated in old Vegas at the Plaza Hotel on Fremont Street.
“I wanted a stripped back wedding because I wanted us and love to be main focus … because that's what this was always about — just us.”
