Best of 2017: Wedding Cakes

No celebration would be complete without a tasty, celebratory treat, and in 2017, couples were after a dessert that wasn’t just sweet, but also stunning! From decadent drip cakes and floral adorned tiers to intricate hand painted detailing, the design of this year’s cakes soared to new heights. Out of all the amazing confections we’ve featured, both big and small, it was hard to narrow it down, but here are 15 of our favorite wedding cakes from this year.

Navy tiers of confections wrapped in a gold vine and adorned with white flowers — we’re in love with everything about this cake from a gorgeously luxe garden inspiration shoot. | photo by Mary Veal Photography | cake design by Cakes by Karol

One of our favorite styled shoots, which was held at Love Lister venue Cypress Falls Event Center, had the perfect cake to match the bright, eclectic decor of this tropical wedding inspiration. We can’t decide if it’s the fun flamingo cake toppers, the painted palm fronds motif or the single layer of pink cake, but we love it all! | photo by Paige Vaughn Photography | cake design by Feathers and Frosting
