Best way to hold onto those bach memories? Book a photoshoot for your bach party!
Okay, sure, my fellow wedding publisher friends and I may not be getting married ourselves, but that isn't stopping us from having amazing friends' trips — for research, of course. The latest trip we booked was a trip to Paris for Taylor Swift's Eras Tour. Having visited Paris multiple times, I was dubbed the official itinerary maker (which, come to think of it, I totally should share with you all!) and the one item that I insisted we HAD to do: book a Flytographer session.
Let's face it, there are few occasions in life where you get all of your favorite people together in one setting, and your bach party is one of those. So it absolutely deserves it's own photo session. And Flytographer is my go-to for travel photos. I've used them for bach parties, family photos and even my own honeymoon. The process is so easy, you know you're getting amazing talents, and they're shot by locals who know some pretty spectacular secret spots.
Need more convincing? Here are ten reasons why you should absolutely book a photoshoot for your bach bash.
1. Create Epic Memories
Your bach party is a once-in-a-lifetime event and a professional photoshoot ensures that this special moment in your life is captured in high-quality images. Imagine flipping through an album years from now and reliving those fantastic times with your besties.
2. Professional Photos vs. Phone Snaps
Sure, everyone is going to be making a Reel of the weekend, but nothing beats the quality of a professional photo. Pros know how to use lighting, angles, and editing to make everyone look their best. Instead of blurry, dim-lit pics, you’ll have stunning, frame-worthy photos that truly capture the essence of the weekend.
3. Add Some Extra Fun
A photoshoot isn’t just about the photos—it’s an activity in itself! It gives everyone a chance to dress up, get silly, and have a blast posing for the camera. Whether you’re striking model poses or goofing around, it’s a fun way to bond with your friends and make even more memories.
4. Embrace Your Theme
Got a theme for your party? A photoshoot is the perfect way to bring it to life. Whether you’re going for a glamorous Hollywood vibe, a retro 80s look, or a laid-back boho feel, a professional photographer can help you create images that capture your theme perfectly. They’ll suggest locations and poses that fit right in.
5. Expert Guidance
Not everyone is comfortable in front of a camera, and that’s okay! Professional photographers should make you feel at ease, guiding you on how to pose and what to do with your hands, ensuring everyone looks fabulous and feels confident. That's one of the reasons why I love Flytographer — every photographer I've ever worked with through them has helped guide me (I usually feel so awkward having my photos taken!). The result: hello, model!
6. Celebrate Friendship
Your bach party is as much about celebrating your friendships as it is about the upcoming wedding. A photoshoot is a great way to capture the special bonds you share with your closest friends. Those group shots and candid moments will be a beautiful reminder of the support and love surrounding you.
7. Unique Keepsakes
Those photos aren’t just for looking at once and forgetting. The high quality makes them not only worthy for the main feed, but also frames! (I'm looking at one from this session sitting on my desk right now!)
8. Perfect for Social Media
Let’s be real: we all love sharing our special moments on social media. A professional photoshoot gives you stunning content to post on TikTok, Instagram, and other platforms. Those gorgeous, high-quality photos will stand out in your feed and make everyone wish they were there.
9. Boost Your Confidence
There’s something about getting dolled up and posing for a photoshoot that makes you feel amazing. You all will feel like stars, boosting your confidence and adding to the fun. Pro tip: Plan a fun night out afterwards to keep the vibes going.
10. Everyone Appreciates Individual Photos
Don't feel like you need to do all group photos. Be sure to squeeze in some solo shots for everyone — everyone is going to appreciate getting a new headshot or profile pic-worthy snap of themselves.
Tips for Your Bach Party Photoshoot
Convinced? Here are some tips to make your photoshoot a success:
- Pick the Right Photographer: I can't stress enough how easy Flytographer makes this, and they have photographers in more than 350 destinations around the world. You can browse the photographers' portfolios to ensure their style aligns with your vision.
- Plan in Advance: Book early to ensure your date is available. Once booked, you can share your notes for any theme or specific shots you want.
- Coordinate Outfits: Decide on a coordinating dress code/color scheme. You wouldn't want one person dressed to the nines and another in a t-shirt and shorts. Make sure everyone is on the same page as far as level of formality, and make sure to avoid loud prints from clashing. (You can see in ours that two of the girls wore darker colors to break the bolder prints up.)
- Location Matters: If you're working with Flytographer, you don't even need to worry about this tip because they'll have great suggestions. Our photog Leo took us to the Louvre courtyard by the pyramid, where normally I would never think to go because of the crowds. He pulled us to a location on the side and got the most epic shot — I had never seen a Louvre pic from that angle. Trust the local!
- Travel Lightly: You're not going to want your bags in the shots and, in most cities, you're not going to want to set your belongings down and risk them being snatched. Try to avoid bringing purses, shopping bags, etc. to your shoot.
- Mix Up the Shots: Get a variety of photos—group shots, individual portraits, candid moments, and fun action shots. The more variety, the better.
- Have Fun: Relax and enjoy the experience. Be yourselves and have a good time. Genuine smiles and laughter make the best photos.
- Timing is Key: The time of day affects lighting as well as crowds. Golden hour, just after sunrise or before sunset, offers beautiful natural light, but sunset is also when the crowds are usually at their peak in high-traffic/tourist areas. Lean on your Flytographer for their timing suggestions.
- Be Weather-Ready: Dress for the weather so that you're comfortable in front of the camera (i.e. avoid excessive shivering or sweating) and hey, if it rains, embrace it! Your Flytographer will also likely have some back-up spots as well.
- Don't Rush: Try to avoid booking any itinerary items immediately before or after your shoot. You want to arrive fresh and non-frazzled, and don't want to feel rush towards the end.
Conclusion
A bach party photoshoot is more than just a fun activity—it’s a way to capture the essence of this special celebration. From creating lasting memories to providing stunning social media content, there are countless reasons to book a professional photoshoot for your bach celebration. So, gather your friends, strike a pose, and let a professional photographer handle the heavy lifting.
