Vince and Roberto celebrated their special day with custom-designed Tom Ford suits, daytime fireworks, private tasting menu, and a villa fairytale.
Sparks were flying throughout Vince and Roberto’s Lake Como wedding and we truly can’t handle our excitement in sharing this elopement.
While both grooms have Italian origins, Vince was born in the States and Roberto was born Canadian. While Roberto knew the two were about to get married on his first trip to Italy, he didn’t know where as Vincent had planned the entire elopement as a surprise.
“I knew that when he was going to see Balbianello from the water, with its big tree and its very specific shape, he was going to know that that was the place. And so it happened!” exclaims Vince.
On a warm afternoon, both Vince and Roberto put on custom-designed Tom Ford suits with Louboutins and Versace shoes, respectively. Once they were dressed, they headed for the Italian boat that sailed along the waters, leading them to their dream wedding venue.
“My favorite part about the day of our wedding was when we were in Lake Como in the pretty Italian boat and we were passing alongside the most beautiful Italian scenery and villas. When we came to a stop, I could not believe my eyes because we were at Villa del Balbianello,” shares Roberto. “I’ve been seeing this beautiful villa and its magical gardens all over magazines and books of design throughout my life and at that very moment it was as if I stepped into a true Italian fairytale … I couldn’t believe that we were getting married at this iconic Italian destination!”
The execution of Vince’s wedding plans came with help from local event planners. And while the setting, private tasting menu, classic Italian wedding cake, gigantic white wedding bouquet were iconic, there was one element of surprise that really had the grooms gushing.
“The most spectacular moment was the daylight fireworks that colored the sky of Lake Como like a big rainbow after we were pronounced husband and husband: that was incredible!” shares Roberto.
