When William and Simona were in Italy visiting Simona’s family, William told Simona he was taking her on a surprise boat trip. But that would hardly be the only surprise in store for her that day. With instructions to be at the dock at Lake Como by dawn, Simona was met by a photographer, Irene Fucci, and Elena from Benevent Planner. They gave her a beautiful floral headpiece with pastel colored blooms, and Simona boarded the boat to Varenna where William was waiting for her with a picnic basket.
Together, they explored the picturesque village before returning to the dock for a romantic charcuterie picnic with fresh fruit and a decadent naked cake for dessert. William then whisked Simona away for a private moment on a bridge suspended over Lake Como and surprised Simona by getting down on one knee. “It was a special surprise, such a moving moment,” she says. “He’s so romantic, and I couldn’t ask for more.”
