This Subscription Service Is the Rent the Runway of Wedding Planning

They are plenty of couples who can (and want to!) navigate 90% of their wedding planning, from researching vendors, to selecting decor, to balancing the logistics. Whether it's for budget reasons or because they're just naturally gifted, I've certainly seen it successfully done.

What planner Jacquelyn Aleece, owner of The Wedding Plan & Co., found was that these go-getting couples still needed someone — an expert — to bounce ideas and questions off of. “When a couple inquires about our services, we have a consultation call where we get to know about their relationship and what is important to them in the wedding planning process.  Time and again I would hear them say, ‘I don’t mind taking time to contact vendors and plan my wedding, but I don’t want to be guessing and making mistakes along the way.'” They didn't need a full-service planner, but they needed more than month-of — a handholding to help guide. “These couples wanted and needed holistic guidance from an expert, tips and suggestions on what/when/where they should be planning, and who they should be planning with,” explains Jacquelyn. “We saw an opportunity and married our personal guidance by building a one-on-one relationship along with an online planning dashboard to streamline communication and provide tools that are always accessible to the couple and their planner in between planning sessions.”

With that, The Power Couple subscription service was born — a deeply needed middle-ground between full- and partial-service planning.

For $179 a month, couples have a one-hour Zoom meeting with their designated senior planner where they review what has been accomplished since they last spoke, and what needs to be accomplished over the next few weeks, and no questions are off-limits. “We can talk about budget, creative ideas, review contracts, discuss family dynamics and etiquette, decor, design, vendor recommendations, consultation preps, timing, checklists, layout, seating, invitations, wedding fashion, you name it … WE TALK ABOUT IT!” exclaims Jacquelyn. And if they need more, they can always book additional sessions.

Couples stay organized and in communication with their planner via The Power Couple dashboard that boasts a dynamic digital design studio, budget tracker, timelines, checklists, wedding website, design tools, guest list, RSVP and more.

“We have subscription services for everything today- food delivery, razors, clothes, even tampons! But why not wedding planning? Subscriptions can be for service-based business too!” says Jacquelyn. “I think of The Power Couple as the Rent The Runway for wedding planning.”

Now that is something worth subscribing to.
