Step into spring with this classic farmhouse wedding near Dallas, Texas. Blush pink, ivory, and greenery set the tone for Autumn and Kristen’s big day, filled with personalized touches and heartfelt moments.
Out with the burlap and mason jars. In with the fresh and reviving vibes of spring!
When it came to Autumn and Kristen deciding on their design for their classic farmhouse wedding in Dallas, Texas they were confident in what they wanted it all to look like.
“We knew we wanted a spring wedding so that we would be able to incorporate the sweet and natural colors we picked: blushes, ivory, and greenery,” shares the couple. “The rest of our vision fell together after finding the perfect venue.”
Once they saw the picturesque views of Davis & Grey Farms, it was a no brainer that was the spot they were trying the knot.
“[The venue] took our breath away with its modern farmhouse feel, the precious outdoor chapel and cute touches such as the large wooden porch swings.”
Keeping things light, fresh, and airy, blush pink, ivory, and greenery was the implemented color palette. The pigments can be particularly seen through the wedding party’s mismatched attire, the decorative blooms, and the hand-lettered place cards and signs created by Kristen herself.
While their venue made the planning process particularly easy in making decisions, there was another element that took a bit of thought and caused some anxiety.
“Choosing a wedding gown was one of the most stressful yet exciting parts of the wedding, seeing as we both can’t keep a secret from each other to save our lives,” recalls Autumn and Kristen. “Having a same-sex wedding with two feminine brides can be difficult. What if we choose the same dress?? I love that both of our gowns complemented each other beautifully while playing into each of our personalities.”
After each slipped into their gowns, they enjoyed a first look together where they read their vows in a more intimate way and embraced the moment before becoming wives.
Flower men processed down the aisle before the two brides met at the altar. They kissed as their guests applauded – which would occur much throughout their reception too!
They had a first dance surrounded by bubbles with a grand exit containing sparklers, as guests left the celebration with a full heart and a succulent wedding favor as a reminder to “let love grow.”
