For their anniversary, Sophia and Oana wanted to do something grand to mark the special occasion, so they jetted off to the windy city for a romantic, memorable weekend. Little did Oana know, Sophia had even more in store for her that would make their Chicago getaway one they’d never forget. Sophia found Viktar from Hilitski Photo on Instagram and convinced Oana that they should get some photos together to document their anniversary. So when they got to Chicago on a crisp November day, they headed to North Avenue Beach for a quick portrait session, or so Oana thought.
With the Chicago skyline towering behind them, Sophia whisked Oana away to the edge of the pier where she shocked her future bride by getting down on one knee with a gold Cartier engagement ring. “It was such a special surprise, such a moving moment,” Oana says. “She’s so romantic, and I couldn’t have asked for more.” After the ring was on Oana's finger, the newly engaged couple celebrated by taking some engagement photos around Chicago to help them remember an incredibly magical day.
