Opting for travel and adventure, couple Alexandra and Megan took the wedding theme to heart and eloped to the Oregon mountains!
“We envisioned our ceremony being very intimate, stress free and fun. Our main goal was to connect with each other and focus on joining our lives together without the expectations involved in a traditional wedding ceremony,” shares the couple. “With our family’s blessings, we decided that an elopement would be the perfect option for us. This would be our very first trip out-of-state together and neither of us had ever seen the Oregon mountains, so we selected this beautiful backdrop for our wedding.”
Their photographers were totally up for the escapade to document each moment of that special day.
“Alex and Meg reached out to us in love with the idea of escaping to the mountains, renting an adorable cabin, and fully living out an elopement day that felt like a date night out on the town. So that's exactly what they did! From waterfalls, rivers, mountain views, breweries, and the most stunning sunset, this couple fully embraced the adventure of their elopement day.”
They each hand wrote their vows and got ready separately before uniting for a first look in front of the cabin in Mt. Hood, Oregon.
From there Alexandra and Megan went on a mini excursion to highlight different features in their relationship with one another.
“The brewery we visited was an ode to our first date at a brewery in Florida, the ice cream was to satisfy Alexandra’s perpetual need for ‘something sweet’; after every meal, and the last stop at the lake was a nod to our shared love of the stars,” shares the couple.
A handfasting ceremony that included a hand-braided cord made by Alexandra allowed the couple to make things official. And after an exchange of vows they kissed their way into the new chapter.
As if the incredible views weren’t enough beauty to behold, the locally-sourced flowers featuring a large magnolia and a mochi donut dessert were the cherry on top of this mountain-elopement.
