Heidi and Gillian’s meet-cute was at a friend’s birthday. But like every good love story, there was a plot twist. They didn’t get together until a year later when Gillian recognized her love for Heidi was the real deal.

“I fell head over heels the second that I let Heidi in,” recalls Gillian. “If you know Heidi at all, you know she is the goofiest person ever and will do anything to make people laugh, with me she does that but is also the most loving, caring person ever.”

Two years after their proposal, they decided to tie the knot at Loveland Estates in Pocahontas, Illinois.

Colors of black, champagne, and gold filled the ceremony and reception space with the most stunning floral arrangement of roses, orchids, and greenery standing out, too!

“We had ceiling florals and big florals on the tables. We used the florals from the altar during the ceremony for the tables during the reception and it saved us some pennies and looked absolutely gorgeous,” exclaims Gillian.

Before their ceremony took place, the two shared a special moment together which easily became the best part of the day for them.

“The main thing we did that made our day special was reading our vows to each other with no one but the photographer and videographer there,” says Gillian. “We were worried about doing our vows in-front of 200 people but because we did it just us two, it gave us the opportunity to be as authentically us in our vows.”

After sealing their love with a kiss, Heidi and Gillian celebrated with loved ones. They shared a first dance to Leather and Lace by Stevie Nicks, allowing guests to take in the sweet moment of their love while admiring the amazing decor that surrounded them. Of which included a neon sign with the pair’s last name, suspended Edison bulbs over the head table, and a champagne wall.

The whole day shined as bright as their grand exit with sparklers; allowing for Emma Caron Photo to capture the magic of all the memories.
