The rustic vibes and personalized details in this wedding at The Art Factory in Paterson, New Jersey are as beautiful and meaningful as they come!
Lauren and Kerri’s modern day love story began by swiping right. After talking and planning to meet up for a date, Kerri almost backed out at the last minute. However something in her heart was telling her to go to the coffee shop and meet Lauren. The rest is history!
“We have been inseparable ever since [that day] and four years later I proposed to Kerri at our dining room table over a nice dinner on the first night at our new condo as homeowners,” says Lauren.
Forgoing a traditional setting, the two embraced their own style with an industrial-chic atmosphere and color palette of mauve, white, and greenery.
They spent the morning getting ready separately before uniting in a first look where they were surprised to see each other in a gown with similar style to their own. “Surprisingly, our dresses were very similar and it was not planned. Neither of us saw each others dress until our first look. They were both slim cut dresses. Kerri’s had thin straps and mine was strapless,” explains Lauren.
Afterwards it was time for their ceremony which kick-started the personalized details. Not only did their best friend unite them in marriage, but they each wrote their vows and carried memorabilia charms in their bouquets.
“For Kerri’s bouquet, her matron of honor had a charm made with our dog Bubu’s picture who had passed away in January 2020. In my bouquet, I had these two bracelets that my mom had made. Each had a tiny circle that when you looked through the light, you saw my grandma’s pictures.”
Sealed with a kiss and a toss of confetti, it was off to celebrate! The rustic-contemporary vibes certainly popped through every feature. “We had industrial lighting hung from the ceiling, dark brown rustic type tables with greenery, candles, white roses, and a white linen table runner. We had black silverware, black plates, and gold chargers.”
To add to the sweetness, Lauren and Kerri had a four-tiered cannoli-and-chocolate mousse cake and rainbow cake pops for favors. The sugary treats were perfect for boosting energy that kept the dance floor jamming all night long with those they love the most; recalling, “Just having our family and closest friend there made the day/night so meaningful.”
