Zendaya is the latest celebrity to announce an engagement, and we've got the scoop on her east-west oval diamond ring.
It's raining celebrity engagements this month (which is no surprise considering that we're in the middle of proposal season). We've oohed over Selena Gomez's marquise style ring and aah'd Chloe Grace Moretz's antique-style solitaire.
After rumors swirling of a potential engagement, Zendaya showed up on the Golden Globes red carpet sporting a dazzler on that finger, confirming her engagement to long-time beau Tom Holland.
The design, speculated to be from British designer Jessica McCormack, features an east-west oval diamond. “Zendaya's ring perfectly blends antique and modern elements in her ring, giving it a chic twist that will likely launch a slew of lookalikes in 2025,” says Jennifer Gandia, co-owner of New York City jeweler Greenwich St. Jewelers. “The east-west set diamond orients an elongated cushion cut shape horizontally on a slim band, making what looks like a 5-6 carat diamond appear even bigger.”
“While east-west rings aren't new, oval and emerald cuts have been the most popular shapes in this setting style and one of the characteristics clients love is how the stone takes up more space on their finger,” she continues.
