Actress Chloë Grace Moretz recently shared a photo dump on her Instagram and in the carousel of pics was a picture of her and her longtime girlfriend, model Kate Harrison, with rings on a certain finger. The photo sparked confirmation that the couple, who have been together since 2018, were indeed engaged.
While both are engagement rings, they're vastly different in style. “Engagement rings demonstrate how your engagement ring is not only a symbol of your love but an extension of your personal style,” says Jennifer Gandia, co-owner of New York City jeweler Greenwich St. Jewelers.
While Moretz's ring appears to be an antique-style gold solitaire, Harrison's is more ornate. “The rings are different though they do share one distinctive feature,” Gandia points out. “Both have a 6 or 8 prong head; this is the part of the ring that actually holds the diamond. This is the most secure multi-prong setting style for a diamond, and perhaps a quiet commentary of how they hold their love: closely and tightly.”
