With a love for patterns, prints, and all things color Stephanie and Theo dreamed up a wedding design that bursts with happiness! In the words of Stephanie, their whimsical rainbowSeattle wedding is best described as “Kate Spade rides the New York subway while reading Harry Potter.” Intriguing as it sounds, the theme was well achieved with the help of Seattle wedding planner Ginger Bee Events, including dashing attire, silk flower bouquet designs put together by the mother of the groom and the bride, a plethora of vibrant balloons, and quirky photos to boot!
“We have tons of LGBT-identifying friends including in our wedding party, and definitely made sure that all of our major vendors were people who had worked with a diverse array of couples — based on their portfolios/websites — and that was part of the motivation for all the rainbow/sequins, too!” says Stephanie.
Prior to their garden ceremony, they were sure to include a touch of tradition. “We had done a traditional Taiwanese tea ceremony prior to the wedding, and instead of lighting a unity candle, made a ‘uni-tea’ tea blend during the ceremony,” mentioned Stephanie.
Once they sealed their love with a kiss, they headed inside the Hall at Fauntleroy that was chock-full of personality. Table numbers named after subways in the city, a color-coded transit map, a rainbow macaron cake, and photo booth complete with Harry Potter-themed props all made a statement; before ending the night with a late night french fry bar and sending guests home with DIY bubble tea favors.
If you love an explosion of colorful details, this wedding aims to please!
