Tiny Tresses: Baby Braids Are Back

Beloved in the '00s, baby braids are having a resurgence.

From face-framing styles to accents to updos, tiny plaits are the perfect way to bring an unexpected element to your wedding day hairstyle. “Baby braids usually add a subtle texture to the style and adds a nice touch of dimension in photos,” says celebrity hairstylist Glenn Ellis.

Laverne Cox's golden braids look positively regal with her overall gilded beauty look. “I wanted it to look very high fashion, so I added a little texture and did a double-strand twist braid on each side of her head to frame the face,” noted her hairstylist Kiyah Wright in a press release.

Soft and feminine, the center part with two thin braids on the side is the classic Y2K style, as seen on HoYeon Jung's red carpet look.

At the Queen Charlotte premiere, Alicia Keys looked like royalty with accent braids leading up to a single-braid updo.

Perfect for a boho style, Margot Robbie's loose braids add a touch of whimsy. Finish with a bobby pin for subtle security.
