These Stylish Brides’ Elopement Was Low-Key Gorgeous

Laid-back yet filled with elegance, the effortless beauty of Sadie and Jody’s elopement is sure to inspire you!

With The Butternut Tree offering a quaint, rustic, yet modern aesthetic, the two chose the venue to fit their ideal wedding day. “We wanted a low-key wedding. An elopement of sorts,” says the couple. “It was really intimate and we spent every planning moment together: from dress shopping to cake tasting, picking out florals, choosing a photographer, makeup artist. It was great to spend time together fine-tuning the small details of our elopement and what would make it special for us. The only thing we kept from each other leading up to the ceremony were the rings and our vows. Everything else we enjoyed doing together.”

Keeping details at a minimum, their favorite parts of the day were not things, but moments. The first being the time they spent getting ready together.

“I loved getting ready together: talking and laughing and taking care of each, helping with dresses and hair,” they exclaim. Both brides had multiple dresses and shoes to choose from. Jody wore a gown and veil from David’s Bridal with Jeffrey Campbell shoes, while Sadie decided on a Delica Bridal veil from from Davie & Chiyo with shoes from Loeffler Randall.

In front of a circular arch adorned with flowers, they exchanged  their vows. This was another favorite moment of the day. “It was an emotional moment for both us and the first time we’ve declared our love for each other in front of people,” they recall. “I also loved that we got a script of our wedding with our vows on it from our officiant. We will always cherish that.”

After they sealed their love with a kiss, they changed into shorter cocktail-style dresses before enjoying dinner, cutting into their delicious floral wedding cake, and enjoying a slow dance together.
