5 Wedding Dress Trends from Fall 2018 Bridal Fashion Week

Another New York Bridal Fashion Week has come and gone, and we’ve had visions of dreamy wedding dresses dancing in our heads ever since. Between glimmering ballgowns, dashing pantsuits and chic silhouettes, we were stunned and inspired by the designs that made their way down fashion's most famous aisle. While blue and blush colors continued to shine and high necklines reigned along with whimsical feather detailing, here are the five trends that we're most excited to see more of next year.

Bell Sleeves

Our favorite trend that we spotted on countless runways was billowy, dramatic sleeves that beautifully framed a variety of silhouettes. From simple sheath dresses to dazzling ballgowns, bell sleeves both structured and whimsical had their moment in the spotlight.

Oversized Bows

We love the way a perfectly tied bow pulls a look together, but there’s something about the added drama of an oversized bow that makes us swoon. Whether delicately tied with tulle at the waist, architecturally draped in the back or as an added detail on shoulder straps, a statement bow is our favorite knot for tying the knot.

Statement Earrings

Choosing the right accessories is every bit as important as choosing the right dress (or pants!) for your wedding day. And this year, many designers added statement pieces to accentuate the intricate details in their designs. Sparkling chandelier-inspired earrings and trendy white cascading globes were just two of our favorites!

Collar Details

In addition to loving the pantsuits and jumpsuits that saturated the runway this season, we were especially fond of the tuxedo-inspired details that were included in several collections. A plunging neckline lined with lapel detailing and a high-neckline collar detail are two looks that made us swoon!

Tea-Length Dresses

Not too short but still sweet, the tea-length wedding dress was a favorite among designers this season. A-line silhouettes with a flattering flare skirt were most common, and with the fun and playful movement a mid-length dress creates, it's not hard to see why.
