Wedding dress designer Galia Lahav is known for her exquisite couture designs (beloved by celebrities like Beyoncé!), and for her Fall 2020 collection campaign, she knew she wanted someone who resonated with the inspiration of her Fancy White collection. “Like light bouncing off of a brilliant diamond, our Fall 2020 bridal collection was inspired by the beauty that is reflected from within. This collection celebrates a woman’s essence and individuality. It’s about reflecting on who she is and connecting to what really matters to her, including what she wants for her wedding day,” Lahav says.
And that person is Brazilian model Valentina Sampaio who just so happens to be transgender.
“Admired for her confidence in revealing her true self, she’s a perfect representation of this collection for the woman who knows she is unique inside and out.”
Sampaio is having a seriously epic last few months, also having recently been coined as Victoria’s Secret’s latest talent and gracing the cover of Elle France. As far as the collection goes, it’s nothing short of dreamy, with an array of silhouettes from sexy mermaid to voluminous ballgowns. Intricate lace peeks through light-as-air tulle, silk, or organza embellished by reflective finishes like beads and rhinestones. And subtle hues of ivory, blush, and lavender are played up with silver embroidery, casting a romantic and ethereal aura around the bride.
