Romantic, vintage yet glamorous, and incredibly lively, Ryan and Ernest’s engagement session looks as though it's straight out of a movie.
Be Still Photography knew just how to capture the cinematic vibe that the couple was looking for; hitting up two unique settings that helped make the vision come to life.
“We utilized two distinct Richmond locations to showcase their film noir style,” says the photographer. “The Book Bindery and the Richmond Mainstreet Station provided the backdrop for the couple's photos. E serves as one of Richmond’s finest police officers, so we leaned heavily into the film noir aesthetic.”
The session began at Main Street Station where Ryan and Ernest portrayed a vintage travel aesthetic. “I wore a vintage-inspired lace mustard color sheath dress with vintage pearls from Montage Consignment. Ernest wore brown dress pants, brown loafers and a white dress shirt with a brown hat and suspenders. The vintage suitcases served as our props!” says Ryan.
When they headed to Book Binders, they jazzed up their outfits giving us all the Hollywood glam feels. “Ernest went for a black-on-black look, with a black tux and black turtleneck, a black watch and diamond earrings,” continuing “I wore a wine satin, low-back gown with black patent leather heels, black gloves and jewelry from Montage!”
Ryan’s look was complete with her pear-shaped diamond ring from Fink’s Jewelers, recalling the first time she tried on her ring, “I literally teared up and knew it was the one for me! I tried on other rings after and I just didn’t get the same reaction!”
