This Midwest wedding inspiration blends refined masculinity with lush botanicals and timeless details.
In an industry often filled with traditional bridal-focused editorials, this botanical styled shoot is a breath of fresh air. Designer and Planner Quintin Jancola of Q Jancola curated a stellar team from the Madison-Milwaukee area to create magic within the four-season solarium at the Tinsmith, a downtown Madison warehouse turned event venue.
“Two ideas were the central focus of this editorial shoot,” expresses Janacola. “One, [to] feature a real LGBTQ+ couple in a market saturated by bridal-focused editorials and fine art weddings, and two, [to] create an elevated botanical concept with a more masculine color palette that complements and accentuates the venue’s industrial setting.”
The result? An enchanting blend of modern green, gray, and black hues, textured plants and flowers, and exquisite details featuring grooms who had a personal connection to the vision of this shoot.
“The models share an Instagram page dedicated to their journey as plant dads where they offer tips and tricks to taking care of plants to their followers. As you might imagine, this botanical-forward shoot was right up their alley!”
To set the tone of the design, a masculine invitation suite was crafted with an elevated font, personalized vow books debossed with a botanical print, and layered paper goods. Meanwhile, a plethora of petals adorned the space, including a foam-free installation and delicate white florals.
Clear ghost chairs allowed the botanicals and venue features to shine, while the tablescape transformed into a mesmerizing sight. Luxurious arrangements, sage green taper candles, and pleated glass votives adorned the farm tables, alongside black-rimmed glass chargers and smoke gray ceramic plates, adding a darker, masculine touch.
Nearby, a long textural cake inspired by the solarium's concrete walls, was placed as a focal point to create an immersive experience. It was as sweet as the smiles both grooms grinned as they cut into the dessert.
From classic black suits and a white dinner jacket to getting ready photos and the Champagne party — the couple radiated such joy and provided even more authenticity to the styled celebration.
For Quintin Jancola, representation is paramount. “As a designer and planner, and as a gay man, representation is so important to me and is the driving force behind my brand. I want every couple to feel seen, appreciated, and celebrated throughout the planning process and especially on their wedding day,” shares Janacola.
