Not only is today’s editorial incredibly beautiful, but it’s also eco-friendly, too!
With sustainability at the heart of the design, this team of Pittsburgh creatives were inspired by a popular show to design a celebration around two polarizing elements.
“Originally inspired by the ‘fire and ice' concept from Game of Thrones, a few regal touches were incorporated, and the shoot featured a mixture of antique and modern elements,” says planner and designer of the shoot, Angela Baguet of Eco & Ivory Event Design.
Shades of blue and bright colors decked out the historic space, The WBU Event Venue, in efforts to showcase a moody springtime aesthetic. “The building used to be a German social club, and the downstairs area where we shot used to be a bowling alley,”
The environmentally conscious details were integrated through various ways.
“Edible décor helped to cut down on the florals, which were seasonal, local, floral foam-free, and donated after the shoot. Décor items were rented or purchased pre-used from antique stores,” says Angela. \“The dress and cape were provided by a wedding dress consignment shop, and the jewelry consisted of antique and estate jewelry.”
A cake made of clean and organic ingredients and stationery made with 100% post-consumer waste recycled paper rounded out the details.
You can extend an eco-friendly lifestyle into your wedding day and have it look impeccable. Really the best of both worlds!
