What started as teammates on their intramural adult basketball league transformed into lifetime teammates for lovers Liz and Kristal. After a blossoming relationship followed by a year of long-distance, Kristal asked Liz to marry her. Spoiler alert … she said YES!
They opted to keep their guest list small, choosing a house on AirBnB in Fraser, Colorado where their closest friends and family gathered over the fourth of July holiday weekend. “It was important for us to make it intimate so all the two sides of the family could meet and have the whole weekend to bond, relax, and celebrate with us,” stated the duo.
Keeping things simple, the Colorado mountains set the scene for their ceremony as the two united under the sky. “When we were becoming friends, we learned we had the same childhood favorite movie so we came down the aisle to the girls theme in ‘Man from Snowy River,'” they recalled, also reflecting on Liz’s gorgeous Willowby by Watters gown and Kristal’s custom navy suit.
Following the exchange of vows, led by Liz’s dad who is also a Pastor, everyone enjoyed a delicious farm-to-table menu courtesy of G&B Culinary along with homemade ice cream made by Kristal’s mom.
“We finished that night around the big fire pits lover looking to the mountains to a sunset that would just not stop. All smiles and feeling so loved. The cup was full that day.”
We love that every part of the day was truly “them” and that’s all you can ask for from such a special day and a loving celebration!
