Jill and Aubrey did not shy away from color nor creativity for their Brooklyn wedding at Brooklyn Winery.
Jill and Aubrey’s Brooklyn wedding is about to encourage you to forgo tradition and think PINK!
“We both really like bold color and patterns and knew we wanted our wedding to reflect that,” shares the couple. “We wanted the space to feel fun and bright but still have some warmth to it. Brooklyn Winery was the perfect backdrop for that, and all of our vendors really came through for us. We were able to add our personality to the whole event with things still feeling welcoming and romantic.”
Invitations designed by the bride’s brother, substituting a traditional wedding cake with a tower of donuts, and colorful blooms popping throughout the decor are some of the fun ideas Aubrey and Jill implemented into their celebration.
“Color was really important for us. We both like a lot of shape and texture and asymmetry. We wanted the flowers to compliment our outfits and decor but also reflect the fun vibe we were aiming for,” recalls the couple.
The pair even ended their ceremony with a pickleback shot. “It was the first drink Aubrey bought me the night we met. It really helped switch things over to pure celebration for the rest of the night,” laughs Jill.
While the fun details and overall look they worked hard to achieve came together flawlessly, it was Aubrey’s gown that had heads turning!
“I knew from the start I wanted to go a non-traditional route with my dress. I knew it would be more difficult to find something in my style, so I was very lucky to find Rebecca Schoneveld. I had a couple ideas, but always gravitated toward magenta. I love that my dress had a more traditional shape but in this super bold color and fabric,” says Jill. “Aubrey wanted something with a pattern to play off my bold choice. And he was leaning toward gray. When we found that fabric for the suit, it was perfect. We also both got our boots before anything else! We wanted those to be fun and bold like everything else.”
