Each year to celebrate Pride, YouTube pulls LGBTQ videos from the year into one themed montage. Last year, the theme was #ProudToLove, celebrating the marriage equality ruling (if you haven't seen that video, click over — it's a tearjerker!) and this year, they asked YouTube users around the world to share who they are and why they are proud to be themselves. Their #ProudToBe initiative comes at a time where it's more important than ever to love, accept and celebrate one another.
“In the wake of the tragic events in Orlando, we stand together in support of the LGBTQ community. We stand together with everyone who has the courage to own and share their identity. We stand together to show the power of solidarity, the power of love, the power of pride,” a YouTube rep tells us. “To those beautiful and brave voices who continue to make YouTube the vibrant, diverse and empathetic community it is, we are #ProudToBe with you.”
