The beauty of Kaitlyn and Zach’s Biltmore Estate proposal is about to take your breath away!
Knowing he wanted to surprise his now bride-to-be, Zach reached out to Jessica Merithew Photography to capture the exciting moment. When he mentioned he wanted to get down on one knee in a private area with a fabulous view, Jessica knew the perfect spot.
“Many guests who visit Biltmore Estate don’t know about this incredible area near the lagoon. Most drive right past it on the opposite side, still not knowing. To me, that’s what is special about this spot. It’s right here in the open, and not many people know it exists,” says the photographer.
With the picturesque setting chosen and the plan in place, it was time to make it happen.
“I was told we were going on a surprise weekend getaway, just the two of us. I had no idea where we were going, just told what to pack. He had everything planned for the day, room service breakfast, a tour of the Biltmore house,” recalled Kaitlyn. “For the second ‘tour,' we were to meet the guides down at the Lagoon behind the Biltmore house and go from there. I was completely clueless and was taking in the beautiful scenery, when he led me to a clearing of the trees with a perfect view of the Biltmore house. The next thing I realized, he was down on one knee and the person I thought was just meditating beside the lake, turned out to be our photographer! An amazing one at that!”
With a stunning three-stone engagement ring, including a centerstone diamond from Zach’s grandmother now on Kaitlyn’s finger, the two posed for photos with excitement amongst the crisp fall beauty of the estate.
“It was a beautiful proposal, in one of the most beautiful spots, and I loved capturing it!” exclaimed Jessica.
