And another ban bites the dust! Texas is the most recent state to declare their ban against same-sex marriage unconstitutional with U.S. District Judge Orlando Garcia ruling:
“Today’s court decision is not made in defiance of the great people of Texas or the Texas Legislature, but in compliance with the U.S. Constitution and Supreme Court precedent,” he said in his order. “Without a rational relation to a legitimate governmental purpose, state-imposed inequality can find no refuge in our U.S. Constitution.”
Like other recent states that have given the constitutional bans a smack down, the ruling will remain in stay status until it can be reviewed in its appeal (because you know those conservatives are going to appeal it).
Even though it's not going into immediate effect, any news of this nature is good news, particularly when we're seeing segregation history repeat itself in Arizona.
