Adrienne proposed to Shy at Tower Beach in British Columbia with a romantic picnic.
Before a surprise proposal at Tower Beach to the love of their life, Shy, could occur, Adrienne had to carefully orchestrate the details. They did so with help from their photographer Anne.
“Adrienne introduced Anne to Shy as a friend and casually mentioned her a few times over the summer so that it would make sense when Anne ‘invited' Adrienne and Shy to ‘an equinox beach fire with friends' at Tower Beach,'” recalls the couple of Adrienne's very thought-out proposal plan.
Once the plan was in place, it was go time.
With the golden light shining above them, Adrienne and Shy proceeded down the winding steps towards the secluded beach. Catching sight of the romantic display consisting of a vintage rug, a picnic table setup, champagne, and candlelight, Adrienne turned to Shy and said “I tricked you — we’re not going to a beach fire.”
Adrienne then took out a piece of paper disclaiming they had a riddle. The riddle ended with the question, “Will you marry me?”
“I just looked into their massive eyes and then I blacked out from love,” Shy exclaims. “Also the riddle was very thoughtful. We used to write riddles for each other when we first met.”
He said yes without hesitation recalling how he knew Adrienne was The One.
“Our difference is our biggest strength. We have lived completely different lives, and our experience and outlook really complement one another. I value their advice, admire their creativity, and trust their judgment and decision-making process. Spending time with them, and celebrating/dealing with life with them has made it so so so OBVIOUS that they are the one for me!”
A gold band ring with a square piece of onyx was placed on Shy’s finger before the two posed for portraits in celebration of a new chapter.
