With 2023’s legislative attacks on the trans and drag communities across the United States, we wanted to spotlight some of our favorite drag queens who are using their platforms to fight against this right-wing agenda that’s sweeping the nation. 

We also wanted you to get to know the person under the wig, and to tell a part of their behind-the-curtain story that isn’t always shared on the Instagram grid: their love stories. It was only fitting to capture this at the iconic United Palace Theatre in Manhattan’s Washington Heights. Whether they’ve been married for two decades or are on the cusp of getting engaged, these coupled-up queens have wisdom to share.
