The Presidential Suite at the Wyndam Grand Clearwater Beach hotel is a budget-friendly penthouse suite that is bach party-approved.
It's easy to see why Clearwater Beach wears the badge for one of the top beaches in America. The super fine, soft, white sandy beaches give Caribbean more than Gulf Coast, and the year-round sunny, warm weather makes nearly every day a perfect beach day.
One of the area's premier hotels, the Wyndam Grand Clearwater Beach Hotel, is nestled a mere steps away from the water and is right next door to Pier 60, a dock that hosts entertainment activities throughout the year.
But it's not the convenient location or breathtaking water views (which all rooms on property boast, btw) that impressed me the most about this hotel during a recent visit. It was their Presidential Suite. (Call 727-281-9500 for Presidential Suite reservations.)
Sleeping twelve comfortably if you utilize the sleeper sofas, the bi-level space with in-suite elevator would rival any large Airbnb property you could find in the area, and at $3,000-$4,500/night ($250-$375/pp), this luxury lodging is actually attainable when compared to regularly priced rooms up and down Clearwater Beach.
A kitchenette on the bottom floor and full kitchen upstairs (complete with full dining room) means you never have to go far for your sips and snacks, and the private balcony is the perfect place to catch Clearwater's iconic sunsets.
And fun tip: bring your own projector! We found the living room's blackout shades double as the perfect screen to create your own in-room movie theater, or, if you're Swifties like us, your own Eras Tour dance party. Check out my Reel of our little makeshift movie theater, complete with witchy Willow choreography (hey, you're never too old for a dance party!).
Sounds like a pretty perfect bach, and we haven't even made it to the rest of the property yet!
Obviously, sun-and-sand are top priority, and Wyndam offers a variety of experiences that take advantage of the coast, from beach cabana rentals to private boat cruises. Hungry? Stay in your swimsuit and grab a bite at the pool, which is worth it's own dedicated sun-and-swim time.
When you're ready to explore the strip, do so in style. Rent the property's WeMoke to cruise up and down the coastline. (Rental fees: $125/hr.)
And while there are a ton of delicious restaurants nearby, make sure to save at least one meal for the hotel's Ocean Hai restaurant. Executive Sous Chef Nana Darkwah has caused quite a buzz for his Asian-fusion menu, inspired by locally-sourced ingredients and fresh, seasonal fare. Lots of small bites to share, and mouthwatering mains if you're extra hungry — just trust me when I say, save room for dessert. Their giant (and I do mean GIANT!) fortune cookie dessert, filled with mango and passion fruit mousse and topped with tropical chutney, is life-changing.
They also have an on-property spa, where you can book manicures/pedicures or treatments such as massages and facials. Be sure to make time to take full advantage of the relaxation room — the chaise lounges are incredibly comfy and they offer up free snacks and infused water.
This is such a fun escape for a bach party, but is also a great destination for weddings (their beautiful ballroom space can host over 700 guests), or honeymoon (be sure to ask for the “proposal table” at Ocean Hai which gives you the perfect sunset view!).
