Citrus Wedding Inspiration With Freshly Squeezed Ideas To Steal

Bright, modern, playful, this citrus wedding inspired styled shoot is making a splash in many ways!

Iowa wedding professionals and queer wedding photographers Alyssa Leicht and Jasper Chung poured their hearts into this tangy shoot due to their passion to represent love of all kinds.

“[We] have noticed such a need for not just visibility of queer folks in weddings, but vendors who go beyond inclusive into affirming queer folks. We dreamed up a shoot based around an LGBTQ+ couple and we had many couples apply to be our models,” states the wedding vendors.

After sifting through applicants they ultimately chose to work with Max and June – a trans-for-trans polyamorous couple.

“We truly believe trans folks deserve to see themselves in styled shoots, in magazines, and just beautifully represented! We loved that Max and June are also polyamorous because we feel that their kind of love is just not shown very often so we were THRILLED to create this shoot around their vibe and vision!”

The design was then created, combining a spring color palette with modern touches. Whimsical blooms, acrylic boxes, and dried fruit garland were some of the many statement worthy details with tapered candles, dandelions in the cocktails, and a cake with hand-drawn oranges adding to the fun.

As if the aesthetic isn’t enough to inspire, Max and June truly brought light, love, and the best energy to each and every image that was captured; completing the very mission that Alyssa and Jasper set forth with this editorial.

“Our hope with these images is that more people get to see folks like themselves in gorgeous wedding photos and that we continue to build a community of wedding vendors that uplifts and affirms the LGBTQ+ community – we need it!”
