The charming 18th-century home of Matt and Tom set the scene for their incredibly romantic engagement session in Hudson Valley. They posed amongst the wooded outdoor space, including moments by the creek, embracing one another beneath the trees, and walking hand-in-hand past the incredible landscape – all while sporting casual, yet incredibly stylish attire — gorgeously captured by Kim-Trang Photography.
Matt and Tom met at the gym where conversations quickly led to something more. Before they knew it, they were in love and living together. “We bought an historic 18th-century house and restoring, decorating, and landscaping — it has become our passion. It’s our favorite place in the world and it seemed the obvious place for the shoot,” says the soonlyweds.
This favorite place of theirs also just so happened to be the spot where Tom proposed to Matt on his birthday. “I had Champagne flutes engraved with a message that only he would understand. Of course, it took longer than I thought for him to notice the engraving,” laughs Tom.
“It was a complete surprise for me and so special as we had a rare weekend together alone at our house,” chimed in Matt. “We actually didn’t tell anyone the entire weekend and just let ourselves enjoy that moment together. We were taking a trip to London the following week together and it wasn’t until we were abroad that we finally ‘broke the news.' It was wonderful to let ourselves enjoy that time together before inviting in all the excitement and energy that comes along with telling your friends and family.”
