Brooklyn Winery Wedding with Romantic Details

They say all you need is love and a good cup of coffee. That’s exactly how Marissa and Sofya’s love story began.

A regular at a local cafe, Sofya became fond of her barista Marissa who served her usual order with handwritten romantic poetry on the disposable coffee cup. An exchange of numbers and calls eventually led to a first date. The rest was history!

Their adventures together led them to the next chapter uniting in marriage at Brooklyn Winery.

“Our desire was to find a beautiful venue that would offer us an intimate setting for a smaller scale ceremony and reception. Most importantly for our wedding to be in the city we love together,” mentions Sofya and Marissa.

With the sun beaming, the natural light and rustic details of the setting were as picture perfect as the brides themselves.

Keeping true to their everyday styles, Sofya’s wore a stunning floral lace gown that was locally made by a woman-owned business, while Marissa had no intentions of wearing white. Instead she sported a pewter blue suit complete with her statement shoe, converse.

Their daytime ceremony was hosted against a wall of plants following the reception indoors. Mixed greenery and ivory blooms flowed into the space and filled it with an abundance of texture, complete with brass lanterns and votive candles. To complete the wildly romantic design, a delicious cake sat nearby.

“It was the most beautiful and most scrumptious cake. Vanilla cake, layered with ganache, Nutella buttercream and fresh raspberries beautifully put together as a two tier cake,” state the brides.

“There was nothing not to love. Our vendors, friends and family were our biggest support systems. Dancing! Photography at the park! The first look. The speeches. The food. THE LOVE. And oh, Marissa found out she was pregnant with our first child the night before the wedding, so it was a very special memory that our now daughter attended our day.”
