Blue Ridge Mountaintop Elopement at Sunset

Small town, big love. That’s the story of how Aimee and Ashley met.

“We met in a small town through mutual friends, we really hit it off on New Year's day. We traveled around town — mostly waking people up and annoying them with our chipper happy-go-lucky attitudes. From then on we were almost inseparable doing everything together. We moved in together a few months later and have been together ever since,” they exclaimed.

And as time would have it, the way they met would be exactly how they approached their wedding day, with an elopement to the Blue Ridge Mountains. After sharing a first look in Coyer Springs — a dog park they frequent with their furry friends — they headed to Raven’s Roost where Aimee’s cousin Kara officiated the wedding for the dynamic duo.

“We both wrote our own vows that we read to each other and exchanged the rings. When Kara was ready, she blessed us and then presented us to the crowd of strangers — that were looking at us from the scenic overlook — and the world as she shouted out that she was proud to announce us as Mrs. and Mrs. Landis. We got to have our perfect private little ceremony right at the edge of the world, the view just stretched on and a magnificent sunset filled with color and light. I could not have asked for a more magical day or ceremony.”

Following their romantic ceremony, they popped champagne and cut into their colorful cake that almost mimicked the beauty of the scenic sights in view. The perfect ending to an unforgettable day.

“I loved that it was just the two of us! We didn’t have any guests to check on or please, we didn’t have to worry about anything except for us. We could completely be in the moment and enjoy what was happening. The day was built around the things we love and the things that make us happy.”
