You can always count on Betsey Johnson to put on a good production for her New York Fashion Week showing. From cartwheels to shirtless firemen, her runway presentations are as eccentric as her personality. While the over-the-top theatrics oftentimes feel like a guilty pleasure that cause us to eagerly await her pageantry every six months, this season she made a statement that's totally worth sharing.
She opened up the show with two same-sex couples in wedding attire as well as sent the well-known drag performer Sharon Needles down the runway in a gorgeous bridal ball gown.

The politics were toned down with silly anecdotes (the grooms had the word “Prenup” inscribed on the back of their suit jacket) which has caused people to already begin claiming that she's poking fun. But we just view it as Betsey being Betsey and showcasing that weddings and love come in all kinds of shapes, sizes and orientations. A girl after our own hearts.
