On a foggy Florida day, Degrees North Images took pictures of Hope and Kriselda as they flaunted their newly engaged status at Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter Resort. These two love Disney and were excited to incorporate the theme into their engagement pictures, especially because their wedding will take place on a Disney Cruise next fall. We love seeing their big smiles and how their love for each other shines through these beautiful pictures!

The Love Story

Hope and Kriselda first connected on Tinder, but their relationship flourished after a snowstorm kept them cooped up for a cozy weekend after their first date. “I invited her to my friend’s apartment to watch the Superbowl,” Hope says. “We ended up getting snowed in together and spending two days doing nothing but watching Netflix, eating Dominos, talking and laughing. I knew I had really met someone special when she thought that was just as fun of a time as I did and could handle being stuck with me in a room through that.”

Hope and Kriselda’s connection grew stronger even though they lived a couple hours apart. On the day that Kriselda graduated from college, it became clear that Hope was the one she wanted to spend the rest of her life with. “It didn’t matter where I went as long as she was with me,” Kriselda says. “I knew she was the one when I realized that she was crazy enough to get up early, drive all the way down to surprise me, meet all my family at once, just to watch me walk across the stage for less than two seconds. I knew right then that I would always want her to be there with me for all of life’s milestones.”

The Proposal

It’s hard to imagine that the happiest place on earth could get any happier, but it certainly did the day Kriselda asked Hope to marry her in front of a brightly lit Christmas tree on Main Street in the Magic Kingdom. After moving to Florida together, Hope and Kriselda fell in love with Disney and quickly became annual pass holders so that they could visit the park often. It’s no surprise that Kriselda chose Disney to be part of their engagement story.

On the day of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, Hope and Kriselda checked into The Grand Floridian Resort and Spa and spent the day together enjoying their favorite Disney activities. Just as the sun was setting behind the horizon, Kriselda sneakily asked Hope to take a picture in front of the Christmas tree. Wearing matching cat sweaters, Kriselda reminded Hope of a time almost exactly a year prior when they were about to take a picture in front of the famous Castle. Instead, Hope suggested they turn around a take a picture in front of the tree because it was more beautiful but not noticed enough. Kriselda explained how that had impacted her view on relationships, made her fall even more in love in Hope and knew they were soul mates. “Of course she said yes,” Kriselda says. “There were tons of people applauding, pictures and tears.” Hope was completely surprised that Kriselda had planned everything out for her. “I couldn’t believe it was real,” she says. “She is always joking, and we are both big goof balls, so I really expected her to say just kidding, but she was serious, and it was amazing.”

The Ring

It is beautiful,” Hope says. “It has a larger diamond in the center, and the prongs that hold it in are heart shaped. There are five diamonds on each side of the center, and the band is a very subtle infinity sign.”
