In Lak’ech Dance Academy is the first queer salsa and bachata dance academy, creating a safer and more affirming space for LGBTQ2S+ people to participate in Afro Latin dance while honoring culturally grounded Latinx traditions and communities. Based in the Bay Area with studios in Oakland, they’re on a mission to make Latin dance radically inclusive and have earned recognition as leaders in their field, including a 2019 MOB Minter Award and multiple World Latin Dance Cup titles. Whether you’re new to dance or looking to take your skills to the next level, In Lak’ech offers a welcoming community where music is sacred, dance is healing, and unapologetic self-expression is celebrated.
