Last week was New York Bridal Fashion Week in New York, and we spent a fabulous week watching gowns of all shapes and sizes strut down the runway in all their glam and glory. Among the classics of luxurious lace, exuberant beading and eye-catching silhouettes, six trends stood out to us the most. Bold colors and striking textures are just a taste of what we loved this season, so here are the exciting new trends that we can expect to see a lot of in Spring 2018.
Black

Wedding dress by Elizabeth Fillmore
A stark contrast from the traditional wedding color, black made its mark on many of the Spring 2018 collections. We love the way a touch of black adds the perfect amount of drama. Spotted at Reem Acra, Marchesa, Ivy & Aster, Peter Langner, Justin Alexander and Vera Wang.
High Necklines

Wedding dress by BHLDN
High necklines seemed to dominate the runway, as many collections featured at least one chin-hugging look, kept in balance with baring shoulder cutouts or sheer bodices. Spotted at Berta Bridal, Mira Zwillinger, Monique Lhuillier, Peter Langner, Marchesa, Romona Keveza, Pronovias and Yolan Cris.
Capes

Wedding dress by Monique Lhuillier
Capes, no matter long or short, have the ability to completely transform a look! If you're looking for something more conservative for the ceremony but want to break free for the party, a cape or capelet might be just what you're looking for. Spotted at Randy Fenoli, Berta Bridal, Francesca Miranda, Vera Wang, Idan Cohen, Savannah Miller and Peter Langner.
Blue

Dreamy hues of blue were everywhere during bridal fashion week. From soft ombres to all-over color, a little something blue is sure to be one of the hottest bridal shades of the year. Spotted at: David's Bridal, Jaclyn Jordan, Sabrina Dahan, Sachin & Babi, Theia.
Pearls

Wedding dress by Theia

Wedding dress by Houghton
The pearl’s natural opulence makes it the perfect wedding accessory. So we were excited to see many designers add a luminous touch to their collections with pearl embellishments. Spotted at Savannah Miller, Naeem Khan and Randi Rahm.
Feathers

Wedding dress by Mira Zwillinger
Feathers have an ethereal, light and airy texture that’s unexpectedly angelic. We loved watching the feathers flutter as they walked down the runway, evoking visions of a whimsical walk down the aisle. Spotted at Naeem Khan, Berta Bridal, Houghton, Kelly Faetanini and Julie Vino.
