Shannon and Shelby celebrated the beginning of their lives together by exchanging vows in front of 150 of their closest family members and friends at Events at Manchester in Rock Hill, S.C., on a summery Sunday afternoon.

THE VENUE

The couple chose to have their wedding at Events at Manchester because it was a space that enabled them to tie the knot and dance the night away in the same perfect spot. Since many of their family and friends came into town to join them in celebrating the special occasion, they found the convenience of this venue to be particularly valuable. The owner of Events at Manchester, Allison, was also very helpful during the wedding planning process. “Just how great she was to work with sold me,” notes Shelby.

 THE FASHION

The bride wore a beautiful white high-low strapless organza gown from David’s Bridal with intricate beaded detail around the dropped waist. She complemented it with a string of pearls around her neck and three pearl bracelets on her wrist. Shelby also wore gray high heel sandals, which were lined with silver rhinestones.

The groom looked dashing a light pink shirt underneath his light gray suit from Express. His rose corsage matched the bride’s white-and-pink bouquet perfectly.

Shelby’s two bridesmaids wore light pink strapless chiffon dresses to accent the bride’s gown and contribute to the couple’s palette of light pink and gray.

THE CEREMONY

Shelby created a beautiful floral backdrop for the ceremony, which the couple exchanged their vows in front of.

The blushing bride said they wanted the wedding ceremony to be romantic and personal. “The ceremony was very specific to us and our relationship,” Shelby said. “The ring exchange was such an amazing and emotional moment!”

THE PARTY

Since the ceremony was held later in the afternoon, the couple decided to provide guests with a heavy buffet of hors d’oeuvres.

The white five-tiered wedding cake was created by one of the couple’s family members. The cake was beautifully hand-decorated with flowers and bows and received rave reviews from guests. “Our cake was amazing, made by a family member, and the pastor said ‘Out of all the wedding cake I've had to eat, that was the best!'” says Shelby.

Shannon and Shelby hired the local band Of Good Nature to play at their wedding. The couple shared their first dance as newlyweds to the song, “Overwhelmed” by Tim McMorris.

Continuing with the color theme, Shannon and Shelby sent guests home with personalized light pink and gray Hershey bars for a late-night sweet treat.

MEMORABLE MOMENT

Shelby: My most memorable moment was my dog whining during the ceremony. My husband and I were fighting back tears and the dog kept us giggling!
