After hearing Michael and Todd’s story, there’s no doubt that their love was fate and they were destined to be together. “We met at OrangeTheory in Chicago while unknowingly living in the same apartment building. We became fast friends after casual conversations on the treadmills and in the elevators of our joint building before and after class,” stated Michael. “As time passed, our connection was undeniable and our friendship escalated into a relationship founded in being best friends first.”
With their constant laughter, effortless conversations and undeniable bond, Todd knew Michael was the one. The pair decided to take a COVID-conscious vacation, leaving Chicago and heading to the national parks in Oregon and Washington. “We hopped into the car and drove to a parking lot at Ecola State Park. We hopped out of the car and began to walk down a trail overlooking the coastline where a sign clearly said ‘Danger – Do Not Enter,’ they recalled. Todd hopped over, knowing Michael would follow suit. It was at that moment Todd got down on one knee with two talented photographers, Taylor and Nathan there to capture that special moment and the celebratory ones after as they popped champagne and ran together along the coast.
Their custom-designed rose gold bands feature a loop within them symbolizing the intertwining of their lives, and are a mixture of matte and glossy texture to create diversity in the tones.
Michael concluded, “The most memorable part of the proposal was the sign prohibiting [us] from going to the proposal location. It acted as a perfect metaphor for our relationship. When one person is hesitant to do something for whatever reason, we work together and trust in the other person in order to accomplish our goal jointly.”
