After a 20-month, long-distance relationship, Amy moved to Seattle to be with Shelly to start their lives together. It was then, on Amy’s 40th birthday, that Shelly proposed over dinner with close friends.
Wanting a fun destination wedding, the soonlyweds set their sights on New Orleans, and found their dream garden venue at the Omni Royal Orleans Hotel and enlisted top local planner Emily Sullivan to give them the ultimate New Orleans experience. And boy did she! King Cake, Mardi Gras beads and a Second Line are just a few Big Easy details that the brides incorporated into their wedding-day details.
For couples planning their own wedding, this is what Amy & Shelly have to say: “Start early! We started our planning process just over a year in advance and were very glad we did! In the end, we felt confident that everything was fully planned out so we could truly relax and enjoy the full experience of all our wedding events. Also, relax and enjoy the entire thing. Soak it all up! It goes by fast in a heartbeat.”
