There’s so much to love about Meresa and Eric’s dreamy dusty blue wedding, but among our favorite details are the velvet linens, vintage flatware and glassware and the incredibly lush florals. From the bride’s bouquet and ceremony arch to the reception decor, beautiful white and blue blooms accented by lavish greenery gave Meresa and Eric’s wedding an utterly romantic feel. Brooke Images beautifully captured not only the incredible details, but also the palpable love between Meresa and Eric, whose wedding day, they say, was nothing short of perfect.

The Love Story
Meresa and Eric’s paths first crossed in the emergency room — thankfully not under dire circumstances. Meresa works as an ER nurse and Eric as a paramedic, and not long after meeting, they became friends. A few months later, they ran a 5K together, and after the race, Eric asked Meresa out on a date. “I said yes, and the rest is history,” Meresa says.
Later on, when Meresa and Eric were planning a trip to the Florida Keys, Eric thought it was the perfect opportunity to propose. “He set up a little golf court tour of the property so we could get great sunset photos and had it planned that our driver would take a picture of him popping the question,” Meresa says. “After, he planned a romantic dinner at one of the hotel restaurants with after-dinner drinks by a bonfire — needless to say, I picked a good one!”

The Ceremony
On a mid-December day, it was a crisp 50 degrees at Walker's Landing in northern Florida where, after months of planning, Meresa and Eric were set to tie the knot. Meresa fell in love with a delicate lace gown with pearl draping at the shoulders and back, and Eric selected a dapper charcoal gray tuxedo, which he paired with a royal blue tie and a mini pineapple boutonniere.
The vows were exchanged in a whimsical woodland area underneath a birch wood altar covered in a gorgeously lush garland filled with hydrangeas, anemones, air plants and eucalyptus. Small boxes of tissues — for happy tears! — along with shawls to keep warm were provided to guests, but the ceremony was filled with smiles and laughter from the bride and groom. And after the rings were on and they sealed it with a kiss, the photographer stole the newlyweds away for some romantic captures along the dock at sunset.

The Party
For her dream wedding day, Meresa entrusted her vision to a longtime family friend Jessica, who is an event planner with Creative Touch Party Design. They decided on a timeless color palette of ivory and blue with natural green accents. Tables were covered in dusty blue velvet linens and lavish florals, and guests found their seats via acrylic escort cards that were waiting for them in a personalized glass filled with champagne.
After dinner, Meresa and Eric cut into their three-tier wedding cake, which rested in front of an epic framed floral installation. They chose two flavors — carrot cake, their favorite, and strawberry shortcake, and other sweet treats, such as donuts, were served as well. As the end of the night neared, Meresa changed into a short beaded party dress by Adrianna Papell just in time for an explosion of confetti to cover the dance floor. It was the best way to end a perfect day!

Memorable Moment
“My dad walking me down the aisle, seeing Eric there waiting for me being surrounded with the most beautiful ceremony setting and all of our closest friends and family was seriously one of the best moments of my life,” Meresa says.
