Bright hues and even brighter smiles have us completely smitten over Lance and John's engagement session photographed by Shaw Photography Co. We love the variety of sites they chose in their home city of Buffalo, N.Y., from the bar where their eyes met at the jukebox to the steps of the Buffalo History Museum. “There are a few photos at MT Pockets where it all started.The car wash photos are our favorite and the site was a recommendation from our photographer, as she thought it fit our personality,” explains John of their unique engagement session locations. “To capture part of Buffalo’s rich history, the historical society building was utilized as homage to the Pan American Exposition.”

The Love Story
“Come to find out we both used to frequent the same neighborhood bar—MT Pockets—but had never run into each other before,” say John. “Lance was out for his birthday with friends and caught my eye while playing music on the jukebox. We started talking and the rest is history.”

The Engagement
During a long weekend trip to Toronto filled with good food, drinks and city sights, they discussed where their relationship was headed, and it was then and there that they decided to spend the rest of their lives together. “I was full of joy at the thought of getting married, but also worried about John's tendency to go overboard with event planning!” laughs Lance.

The Rings
John's band gives a nod to his Irish heritage with a Celtic design on the outside while Lance's stayed more conservative with a brushed look. Both bands are engraved with their initials, J + L, and their wedding date, with a heart symbol that showed up throughout their wedding from the invitations to the wedding cake.
