Meaningful with an artistic twist, Angel and Sha’s wedding day is one of a kind!
With Sha being a photographer and graphic designer and Angel’s passion for painting, these lovers knew just how to infuse personality into the pristine spaces throughout the Historic Mankin Mansion in Richmond, Virginia.
“I was inspired by architecture, color theory, fashion and my favorite artist, Christina Martinez,” mentions Sha. “The foundation of every decision we made was: family, warmness, and welcoming.”
With those key concepts in mind, they built a beautiful design with muted earth tones and rich emerald greens paving the way. While all of the sweet touches were special, there were two elements that really made Angel and Sha hearts sing.
The first favorite detail is the ceremony floral setup and altar design which consisted of elevated arrangements with an abundance of texture. The placement of the setup complemented the outdoor space and was the perfect backdrop for Sha and Angel to exchange vows; Sha wearing a gorgeous ball gown and Angel in a bold emerald green tux.
As if the design itself didn’t flourish enough, the energy was also plentiful.
“We played a sound bowl during the ceremony and it sung so loud for us! It reconfirmed for us that the energies were aligned and that this was all in perfect timing.”
The second favorite element the couple incorporated was the art exhibit during cocktail hours. “We both love art and we chose two pieces each from our favorite artists and displayed them for our guests to enjoy.”
The celebration ended with Angel’s most loved cigars at the cigar bar and dancing late into the night.
