Indian Wedding in Montreal

This Traditional Indian Wedding Was Followed by a Western Celebration in Montreal

Zara and Shahriar two-day wedding extravaganza in Montreal, Canada highlights the fusion of traditions, colors, and love!

The festivities began on Friday at the Belvedere of the Montreal Science Center, where friends and family gathered to celebrate the Gaaye Holud, a Bengali reception. Zara, with Ukrainian and French-Canadian heritage, and Shahriar, originally from Bangladesh, brought together their diverse backgrounds.

Dressed in traditional garments adorned with vibrant hues of reds, oranges, yellows, pinks, and blues guests added to the kaleidoscope of colors that filled the venue. The air was filled with the aroma of delicious food as everyone indulged in the rich culinary delights. The highlight of the evening was the traditional ceremony, where blessings were exchanged, and the couple danced joyously into the night

Saturday brought another day of joy and celebration as Zara and Shahriar exchanged vows in a nondenominational white wedding at Plaza Rive-Sud. The wedding party, adorned in shades of blue, perfectly complemented the colorful wedding flowers.

The ceremony, held outdoors amidst nature’s beauty, was a breathtaking moment of love and commitment. As the sun set, guests moved indoors for the reception, where tables were adorned with decorations mirroring the wedding party attire. At the front of the room stood a beautiful sweetheart table, reserved for the bride and groom

The night was filled with heartfelt speeches, delectable dinner courses, and of course, plenty of dancing.

Zara aptly described the celebration as “twice the fun.” And let’s just say we’re totally feeling that vibe popping through this gallery captured by Arianne Nantel-Gagnon!
